Space Saving Garage Storage
It’s spring time again, and the wife told me that I needed to clean up the garage or my valuables that are in there would be going curbside when she got her hands on them. What a task! I still had my golf clubs from when I was in grade school! Clutter, clutter, clutter. I didn’t know where to begin. First off, I had to decide what things that I wanted to keep and which were junk and had to be tossed. After this menial task was done, I had to think of how the garage was going to be set up. Much like a room in the house, this took careful consideration, and I decided to break it up into sections. But there was no where to put everything, so I started checking out garage storage devices. To my surprise, this is a huge money making industry. There are shelves, cabinets, tool boxes, lockers, etc that you can choose from to help clean up your space and make it neat and orderly.
After choosing an assortment of these products, everything started to come together. I had an area for my power tools and home maintenance items, one area for my sports gear, another area for the yard (lawnmower, hose, my wife’s gardening tools), and of course there was a lot of room to finally store my ‘72 Nova inside where she belongs. Not only did I pack away many of the items, but I labeled them as well. The garage literally looks like another room of our house, and where I spend the majority of my time now. My wife thinks it looks absolutely amazing, however, she begs me to stop spending the nights sleeping in my ‘72 baby!
Whether you’re giving the garage or storage area a makeover, or just trying to reduce the clutter, there are many options and methods you can look for. The use of lockers, tool boxes and be plastic tote boxes worked best for me!
